Apple TV+ announced its first-ever Apple Original podcast that will be released in English and Spanish starting on July 1.
The eight-part podcast series "My Divo" will follow the story of Maria Garcia with singer-songwriter Juan Gabriel's legacy as her guide.
Apple Offers Early Access to 'My Divo' for Apple TV+ Subscribers
In a press release, Apple shared that "My Divo" is the first Apple Original podcast that will be part of the Apple TV+ subscription. Existing members are entitled to early access to all eight episodes upon the release day.
The series will premiere on July 1 and will feature the first two episodes. Non-subscribers can access the remaining episodes as soon as they are released per week.
Moreover, connected subscription on Apple Podcasts offers new shows and additional premium benefits as part of their plan. Apple TV+ subscribers can connect their subscription to Apple Podcast before the release of "My Divo." Apple also announced that upcoming podcasts will be made available to subscribers in full.
Apple Introduces 'My Divo' to Podcast Listeners
The podcast will feature the Mexican icon Gabriel, who is popularly known as El Divo de Juárez, and award-winning journalist Garcia who will explore her hometown roots. Both of them share the same hometown and Mexican heritage.
"'My Divo' explores Juan Gabriel's personal life and public persona, discovering new important details about his life, including how his sexuality was perceived and the impact it had on his legacy," Apple wrote.
During the eight-part podcast, Garcia will attempt to reconcile with her own identity and will examine her similarities with Gabriel.
"My Divo" is produced by Futuro Studios with executive producer and host Garcia and Marlon Bishop. Other podcast in the platform includes "Foundation," "For All Mankind," and more.
