Xbox revealed a new partnership with Amazon that will bring its popular game titles to Fire TVs without needing a console, starting this July.
Xbox Game Pass Ultimate library will be allowed to integrate with a TV using a compatible Fire TV stick and Bluetooth-enabled controller.
Xbox Allows Gaming Without Console on Fire TV
In a press release, Amazon shared that the Fire TV Stick 4K (2023) and Fire TV Stick 4K Max (2023) are both compatible with the Xbox Game Pass integration. The sticks' prices start at $49.99, making them way cheaper than buying the console.
Users must download the Xbox app on the Fire TV device through the Amazon App Store. A Microsoft account is required to access the game.
Existing subscription for the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate will instantly grant access to hundreds of cloud-enabled titles in the library. The subscription costs $16.99 per month.
Xbox Extends Portable Cloud Gaming Experience With Amazon
Cloud gaming has become popular these days among avid players. Some gamers prefer it since it allows them to play without a console. For the Xbox integration, players can use their Xbox Wireless Controller, Xbox Adaptive Controller, DualSense, or DualShock 4 controllers.
"As long as you have a solid internet connection your compatible Fire TV Stick, and a compatible controller, you can take your Xbox Game Pass games and saved progress travels with you," the company wrote.
Popular titles like Fallout 4, Starfield, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II, and Forza Horizon 5 are all available to play through the Fire TV stick. Fortnite fans can also access the game for free without committing to the membership.
