The purported Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4 has just popped up in the AnTuTu benchmark database, confirming its specifications ahead of the big unveiling on June 12.
Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Tab S tablets have been making headlines quite often recently and they are among the most highly-anticipated tablets of this year. They are expected to launch as Samsung's first tablets with AMOLED displays and will reportedly boast top-notch specs and features all around.
Various leaks and reports so far have tried to paint a picture of what to expect from the Samsung Galaxy Tab S lineup, and now an AnTuTu benchmark listing for the 8.4-inch Wi-Fi variant (SM-T700) has popped up to confirm the specs ahead of the big launch.
Samsung has scheduled a press event on June 12 to "Tab into Color," where the company is widely expected to take the wraps off its new Galaxy Tab S lineup of premium tablets with AMOLED displays.
According to this new AnTuTu benchmark listing (see below), the 8.4-inch Wi-Fi model of the upcoming Galaxy Tab S will boast a 2560 x 1600 AMOLED display, an octa-core Exynos 5420 processor, Mali T-628 graphics, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, an 8-megapixel rear camera, and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter.
On the software side, the tablet will run the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. The listing makes no mention of the rumored fingerprint scanner, but the tablet is nonetheless expected to have one integrated into its home button, just like the flagship Galaxy S5 smartphone.
A recent leak offered some pricing details for the upcoming Galaxy Tab S tablets, suggesting that they will cost significantly more than the company's Tab Pro models. A Finish retailer revealed pricing details for both Galaxy Tab S models, listing the 8.4-inch model with a €449 price tag for the Wi-Fi-only version and €563.90 for the 4G LTE One. The 10.5-inch model appeared with a €563.90 price tag for the Wi-Fi-only model and $619.90 for the 4G LTE one.
Those prices are quite hefty, but keep in mind that they remain unconfirmed at this point. Samsung's Galaxy Premiere 2014 event is just around the corner, however, and we'll learn all about the company's new Galaxy Tab S lineup in a couple of weeks. Stay tuned for more details as soon as they become available.
