Oura announced its AI health coach, Oura Advisor, that will soon allow wearers to inquire about certain health metrics and explain readings to them.
The feature also promised personalized recommendations based on existing data logged by the smart ring on the previous days.
Oura Expands Smart Ring Feature With AI
In a blog post, Oura detailed that the Advisor is a "personal wellness coach." The feature is designed to provide actionable advice and contextualize the user's data for long-term health support.
"It allows you to understand and contextualize your Oura data like never before, offering you personalized guidance and insights to help you reach your health goals-no matter where you are on your journey," the company wrote.
The AI-powered health coach is available for beta testing in Oura Labs. Eligible users can select the communication style of the Advisor such as supportive, mentoring, or goal-oriented.
Oura Seeks Personalized Health Coach for Every User
The users can adjust the frequency of notifications from the AI advisor. They have the option to get it daily, three times a week, or weekly. The feature also allows setting the preferred time to receive messages.
Oura CEO Tom Hale shared an example of how the new AI feature will guide users through the app. The demo showed that the advisor would initiate a conversation based on the gathered data in the past few days.
Several questions and suggestions will be given to users to help the app assess the situation. At the end of the conversation, a recommended activity to help with the user's situation is given.
Oura users can access the Oura Labs and join the testing session for new features. The company will be compiling feedback from testers before the AI coach is released to all users.
