Pokemon GO Limits Interactions With Team GO Rocket Grunts Using Player Ban

Pokemon GO introduced a policy change that will ban players from interacting with over 160 Team GO Rocket Grunts which could create trouble for gamers who play too much.

The change was recently implemented and most of the fans were unaware of the new threshold.

Pokemon GO Prohibits Illegal Farming of Stardust

The new policy was reportedly in place by the developers to ensure that players will not use illegal ways to farm Stardust in the game. Niantic did roll out the changes but failed to specify the exact threshold.

Reddit user Faladyne experimented with the new policy using a new Pokemon GO account. The user deliberately tested the limits of the allowed interactions with a Team Go Rocket Grunt member for the sake of informing the community.

According to the user, it took 160 interactions before the account got banned from the game. In addition, the fights are not the only ones counted as interaction as simple talking is enough to trigger the count and the ban.

Pokemon GO Ban is Only Temporary

Faladyne detailed that the experiment was done so that players wouldn't have the trouble of experiencing a sudden ban while gaming. After 160 encounters, the account will automatically get a seven-day ban.

"We have detected unusual activity from your account. As a result, temporary limitations have been placed on your play," the blue notice states once a player hits the threshold.

However, other players reported longer bans which could be dependent on how much abuse was detected with the interaction. For now, qualification is still unclear for the majority of players.

The temporary ban will cool down the player's gameplay for a while. During this period, players will be shown a blank map and the game's quality will become unplayable.
