Stormind Games and Saber Interactive's A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is set to arrive on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|, and PC on October 17.
The upcoming horror game is inspired by the 'A Quiet Place' franchise which tells the story of a world invaded by allies known as Death Angels.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead to Debut After Successful Prequel Movie Release
Last June, the latest film from the popular horror-thriller franchise premiered the prequel 'A Quiet Place: Day One." The film became a blockbuster hit with $269 million in revenue against its $69 million budget.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead is a first-person single-player horror adventure game that allows players to dive into the world of the franchise. The game heavily relies on stealth, requiring players to be mindful of their surroundings.
Like in the movie, even the slightest sound could trigger the Death Angel to move into their target. The trailer revealed that players must survive by hiding, distracting, and sneaking past such creatures.
A Quiet Place: The Road Ahead to Introduce New Narrative
Despite being in the same universe as the films, the game will introduce a new narrative. The game's story will follow the journey of an asthmatic Alex Taylor as she navigates her survival with her boyfriend Martin.
The events of the game are expected to cover incidents sometime in October 2020. As seen in the films, the number of days since the invasion will serve as the transition for each story.
"With nothing more than your wits and the simple tools you can scavenge, you'll have to overcome the many treacherous challenges and obstacles that lay ahead, all while trying to survive an ever-present threat of the unknown enemies. Just don't make a sound...," the official synopsis read.
