Crunchyroll Hits Milestone of 15 Million Monthly Paid Subscribers

Crunchyroll celebrated its new milestone of surpassing 15 million monthly paid subscribers after Sony announced a 10% increase in its operating profit.

The Sony-owned streaming service launched its paid subscription plan last 2022, requiring viewers to watch under a paywall.

Crunchyroll Reports New Record on Subscription Plan

The popular anime streaming site is home to more than 50,000 episodes and over 25,000 hours of series, music, and movies. Some of its most viewed anime include "Demon Slayer Kimetsu no Yaiba," JUJUTSU KAISEN," "One Piece," "Solo Leveling," and more.

The company is also in partnership with Sony Music Entertainment Japan which helps in providing anime music to the site. As of writing, there are around 3,300 music videos and concerts that are available for subscribers.

As the number of people excited about anime continues to explode and the breadth of content continues to widen, we believe it has never been a better time to be an anime fan," said Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll.

Crunchyroll Debuts New Logo, Improves Branding as Streaming Platform

Last month, Crunchyroll unveiled its new brand identity before arriving at the San Diego Comic-Con. The company described its new branding as a blend of ethos of fun and celebration.

Fans should expect to see a modernized version of the logo which features a balanced eye symbol and a revamped watermark. A new font set called Crunchyroll Atyp will also be used while retaining its orange, black, white, and taupe color scheme.

Crunchyroll will continue to evolve its brand to honor the success of its streaming service. The platform also pledged to bring 45 to 60 new series to fans every season, along with new films based on anime series.
