Instagram Expands to 20 Max Uploads Per Post, Meta Doubles Previous Limit

You no longer need to worry about the carousel limit on Instagram as the platform has now expanded it to double its capacity. Users are now allowed to upload a maximum of 20 per carousel. This is a significant expansion as it only allowed 10 uploads of media, which is the maximum limit in the previous experience, and it also allows users to share a mix of photos and videos in one.

Meta's latest offer for Instagram allows for more media to be combined into multiple posts. It can be noted that this improvement allows Instagram to mirror TikTok, which currently allows a maximum of 35.

A recent report from The Verge is now detailing the latest update of Instagram, which expands on one of its most important features available, the regular post. With this change, Instagram now allows users to upload a maximum of 20 media content in one post.

It is one of the latest major updates of Instagram which it shares with users, centering on massive experiences to mix and match different uploads in one.

While users need not reach the 20 max limit of uploads at once, this allows more flexibility to their posts as some already feel that 10 is not cutting it.

Meta's Instagram Update Doubles Previous Limit

The latest change from Meta and Instagram doubles the previous limit, which, as previously mentioned, only allows a maximum of 10 uploads per post. Many Instagram users have been wanting this upgrade from the platform for a long time now.

For now, Instagram is slowly rolling out this new max upload limit for users on their accounts, and while it is not yet available for some, it will arrive soon.

Meta's Instagram and Its Latest Features

There are many features available on Instagram which have been staples to regular users and content creators, who have it as their main app for browsing and sharing on social media. Among those is the Reels, which focuses on a vertical video layout. This competes toe-to-toe with TikTok, but it is infamous for not allowing long-form, as claimed by its CEO.

Still, there is a lot to enjoy more on this multimedia social networking platform from Meta, which has since evolved from its photo-sharing setup when it was introduced. It has since launched Instagram Stories, which offers vertical media uploads that expire after 24 hours. It has a 60-second limit for videos, but uploading a long-form one will result in the app automatically breaking it into parts.

On the other hand, there is also its take on a text-centered social media known as Threads. Since its launch, it has since grown into a massive platform that is on par with what X (formerly Twitter) has to offer.

Despite its reluctance to accept long-form video amidst TikTok's growing video duration limits, Instagram's latest update that allows a maximum upload of 20 mixed media content is very much welcomed by its users.
