Online Video Streaming with X TV
Users only need an X account to get the chance to experience X TV on their smart TVs, and X CEO Linda Yaccarino claimed that it would not have ads amidst its launch phase. However, that may change soon as the free access to X on mobile and the web have already been showing several advertisements to users.

Elon Musk's X and its Shift
Once touted as "The Everything App," X has since evolved from the short word social media platform from its early Twitter days to a free speech platform under Elon Musk's ownership.
The possibility of reviving an app that offers users different experiences online came back when Musk started to buy Twitter shares and eventually became its largest stakeholder. By October 2022, the multi-tech executive fully bought Twitter and shifted its focus to a social media platform that upholds free speech.
Not long after, Musk changed Twitter's name to X and dubbed it "The Everything App." Musk went on to say that X will no longer be a social media-focused platform.
Video streaming is now one of the top entertainment experiences worldwide and the X owner claimed that this will be the direction that his platform is taking. In fact, X now allows uploads of up to four hours long at 1080p resolution.
After teasing X's dedicated video streaming experience on the big screens, X TV was introduced to the company, and now, users are also able to download and enjoy what it has to offer on smart TVs.
