The new Samsung Galaxy Tab S lineup is now available on Three UK, with both the 8.4- and the 10.5-inch tablets now available for purchase.
Both models in the new Galaxy Tab S series boast Super AMOLED displays, powerful internals, and attractively-thin profiles. The two slates made their debut last month at the Samsung Galaxy Premiere 2014 event and, according to the company, they are raising the bar for the entire industry.
"The tablet is becoming a personal viewing device for enjoying content, which makes the quality of the display a critical feature," Samsung CEO and President of IT & Mobile Division touted when announcing the slates. "With the launch of the Galaxy Tab S, Samsung is setting the industry bar higher for the entire mobile industry. It will provide consumers with a visual and entertainment experience that brings colors to life, beautifully packaged in a sleek and ultra-portable mobile device."
"Galaxy Tab S, the world's first high-resolution Super AMOLED tablet, is Samsung's best tablet ever," Michael Abary, Senior Vice President at Samsung Electronics America, added at the time. "Producing innovative displays that immerse and captivate is part of our DNA. So we're leveraging our core competency in display technology to create a new personal visual device optimized for delivering the ultimate viewing experience."
For those unfamiliar with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S lineup, both devices have a super-slim 6.6mm-thick profile and both pack powerful octa-core processors: four cores clocked at 1.9GHz for games and heavy duty tasks, and the other four cores clocked at 1.3GHz designed to handle less demanding tasks and go easier on the battery. The slates also boast a hefty 3GB of RAM to ensure a fast and smooth performance.
The Super AMOLED displays sport 2560 x 1600 resolutions, with the 8.4-inch model packing a pixel density of 359 ppi and the larger 10.5-inch version packing 288 ppi. The tablets also come with dual audio speakers, 8-megapixel rear cameras with flash, full HD front shooters, 32GB of internal storage capacity, and microSD support for additional memory. The slates even come with fingerprint scanners for extra security, just like the Galaxy S5.
To further sweeten the deal, Samsung has also thrown in some neat freebies, including Kindle books, music streaming, apps, magazine subscriptions, or access to Sky Movies. This free content is accessible through the built-in Galaxy Gift app.
Three UK has now started offering both versions of the tablet.
