The new LG G3 S, a.k.a. the European variant of the LG G3 Beat, is now available for pre-order in the UK unlocked and SIM-free for €379.99.
For those unfamiliar with the device, this new LG G3 version sports slightly watered-down specs compared to the original flagship, and was previously expected to launch as the LG G3 Mini. Considering that it sports a 5-inch display, however, it's understandable why LG decided not to go with the "Mini" moniker.
The LG G3 Beat made its debut recently and the company said the European name of the handset will be the LG G3 S. We still don't have a specific release date or more detailed shipping information, but the device has nonetheless popped up in the UK.
UK retailer MobileFun is now listing the SIM-free LG G3 S as available for pre-order. The handset costs €379.99 and comes with 8GB of internal storage capacity, but the retailer only lists the white color option of the device for now. No other retailer in the UK has started offering the LG G3 S yet.
As previously mentioned, the LG G3 S, also known as the LG G3 Beat, is a mid-range version of the top-notch LG G3 flagship. This model comes with a 5-inch HD 720p display instead of the QHD beast the flagship boasts, and packs a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood, clocked at 1.2 GHz and paired with just 1GB of RAM.
Other specs of the LG G3 S include an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 1.2-megapixel front shooter, 8GB of internal storage capacity, a microSD card slot for additional memory, and a 2,540 mAh battery. On the software side, the handset runs Android 4.4 KitKat out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, A-GPS/Glonass, NFC, and USB 2.0. In terms of weight and dimensions, the LG G3 S measures 137.7 x 69.6 x 10.3 mm and weighs in at 134 grams.
With the LG G3 S now listed as up for pre-order on MobileFun's website in the UK, it shouldn't be too long before the handset makes its official debut in the region. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
