The much-rumored HTC One for Windows Phone, or One W8, has leaked yet again in a new image that shows its premium design.
With just one day to go before the HTC One W8 officially launches with Microsoft's latest Windows Phone 8.1 on board, another leaked image now boosts excitement and anticipation by showing the smartphone's beautiful design.
The high-resolution photo you see above comes from Neowin and shows what the device may look like. Judging solely by the handset's rear, one may easily mistake this version for the original HTC One M8, save for the Windows Phone logo engraved in the middle. This falls in line with previous leaks and rumors, all of which suggested that the HTC One W8 (or One M8 for Windows) will retain the same premium design of the original flagship. The rear cover also confirms that this handset is headed to Verizon Wireless' network, as it shows Big Red's logo at the bottom.
The front side of the phone, meanwhile, gives away the new version, as it rocks Windows Phone 8.1 instead of Android as found on the original HTC One M8. This may not be HTC's first Windows Phone smartphone, but it definitely looks like the most premium one.
The HTC One W8 is also expected to remain identical to the original HTC One M8 in terms of specifications. This means that it should sport a 5-inch Full HD LCD3 display, a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 2GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage capacity, and a microSD card slot for additional memory.
Moreover, the Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8 is also expected to boast the same Duo Camera setup that drew so much interest, albeit it remains to be seen how the OS will integrate it. The upcoming HTC One W8 is also rumored to sport compatibility with the manufacturer's Dot View cases.
The HTC One M8 is one of the most powerful smartphones on the market and is already enjoying great popularity, and another version with a different OS will surely be welcomed by the tech community. Windows Phone, for its part, has risen to the third spot in the mobile market, trailing only Android and iOS, and with a top-notch device like the HTC One E8 on its side it may increase its popularity even further.
Keep in mind, however, that the purported HTC One W8 is not official just yet, so take this leak with a grain of salt.
