HTC One M8 for Windows tips & tricks with new tutorials (VIDEO)

With the new HTC One M8 for Windows out and about, HTC has now shared some tutorials to help users maximize the experience.

Microsoft and HTC stirred lots of waves earlier this week with the introduction of the HTC One M8 for Windows, which is a variant that runs Windows Phone 8.1 instead of Android.

While the HTC One M8 for Windows retains the same hardware specifications as the original model running Android, some software features are different. HTC's new video tutorials aim to make it easier for users to learn about these new special features and make the most of the smartphone's capabilities.

Duo Effects

In the camera department, for instance, the HTC One M8 for Windows still has a twin camera setup, but it's different from the UltraPixel Duo Camera found on the Android version. More specifically, the Windows Phone version of the smartphone comes with Duo Effects camera features such as UFocus, which aim to enhance the photo-taking experience.

Video Highlights

At the same time, while the Android version has HTC Zoe on board, the Windows Phone variant does not. Nevertheless, users can still create and share animated collages, complete with music and themes, through Video Highlights.

BlinkFeed

Lastly, The HTC One M8 for Windows also gives users access to HTC's popular BlinkFeed news reader, although it may seem different. The Start screen format of the Windows Phone platform doesn't enable users to access BlinkFeed as easily as on the Android version, but the app is still on board. Users will just have to tap the app or pin it as a tile, and they will be able to enjoy all of the treats BlinkFeed has to offer.

The HTC One M8 for Windows may be the most premium smartphone to grace Microsoft's platform so far, and it definitely has a lot to offer. As a reminder, the smartphone is currently exclusive to Verizon Wireless in the U.S., but not for long. AT&T has also announced that the HTC One M8 for Windows is "coming soon" on its network as well, although it hasn't offered an exact launch date just yet.
