Samsung Galaxy Note 4 teaser boosts excitement ahead of Sept. 3 launch (VIDEO)

Samsung has just released a new teaser ahead of the big Galaxy Note 4 unveiling next week, highlighting the S Pen and the importance of handwriting.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is undoubtedly one of the most highly-anticipated devices of this year and is expected to boast notable improvements over its predecessor. Considering that it launches as the successor to the Galaxy Note 3, which is already quite a powerhouse, the Galaxy Note 4 has some big shoes to fill.

Samsung's next-generation flagship phablet will make its official debut next week on Sept. 3, at the Samsung Unpacked 2014 Episode 2 event ahead of the IFA 2014 trade show.

While anticipation is already building up ahead of the big launch, Samsung is now doing some teasing of its own to further boost excitement. The teaser doesn't give any info on the Galaxy Note 4's specs, but it highlights the popular S Pen stylus that plays a major role in the whole Galaxy Note experience.

Samsung starts simple, pointing out just how important handwriting is in our lives, as a means of communication and expression. The company notes that handwriting is slowly becoming less common, but its S Pen still allows users to write things down the old-fashioned way instead of typing, even if it's not with the traditional pen on paper. The S Pen also allows users to do much more than just writing notes down, as its Air Command menu has plenty of functionality. The new S Pen experience in the Galaxy Note 4 is expected to sport some notable improvements, as is the device itself.

Based on leaks and rumors so far, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is expected to boast a QHD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, joining the 2K party. Other rumored specs include a Samsung Exynos ModAP SoC or a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor, depending on region, with both variants expected to be 4G LTE-compatible.

The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 is further rumored to come with at least 3GB of RAM, if not 4GB, 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory, and a 3,800 mAh battery to keep things up and running. Some reports also suggested that Samsung may launch a 128GB Galaxy Note 4, but it remains unconfirmed for now.

In fact, all of these specifications are in the rumor state for now, so it's best to take everything with a grain of salt until the official unveiling on Sept. 3. In the meantime, check out Samsung's latest teaser video below.
