The T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition LTE should get an update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat anytime now, if it hasn't already.
The LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition tablet on T-Mobile's network is in for a neat treat, as Android 4.4.4 KitKat has started to roll out for the device and should become available very soon.
Google recently launched its very latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, but it will take a while for this version to hit wider availability. For now, the latest Android iteration launched with the new Nexus 6, Nexus 9, and Nexus Player, and it will soon start its journey to other devices. The Nexus family will be the first in line, as expected, followed by the Google Play Edition (GPE) lineup.
The rest of the devices out there on the market, non-Nexus and non-GPE, will have to wait a bit longer to get the latest version of Android, but it doesn't mean that other software treats are not in store for some of them. The Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 LTE on T-Mobile is not getting the latest Android 5.0 Lollipop, but version 4.4.4 should brign notable improvements nonetheless.
The new upgrade will bump the software version from Android 4.4.2 to Android 4.4.4 KitKat, bringing the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 to version P607TUVUANI1. According to Samsung's support page, the Android 4.4.4 update started rolling out on Friday, Sept. 17. This means that if you haven't received it already, it shouldn't be long until you do.
In an intriguing twist, the LTE version of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is getting the Android 4.4.4 KitKat update before its Wi-Fi counterpart, which is utterly uncommon for the U.S. Carriers usually release updates to the Wi-Fi-only versions of devices first, and only a good while later the LTE models get the same treat.
Neither T-Mobile nor Samsung have listed any official changelog for this new update, but it should include the typical suite of bug fixes and enhancements Android 4.4.4 KitKat has to bring to the table.
If you have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 tablet on T-Mobile and you haven't received the latest update to Android 4.4.4 KitKat yet, you can always manually check for the upgrade's availability. To do so, access your tablet's Settings > General > About Device > Software Update.
As always, the upgrade rolls out in phases, which means that it can take a little while to reach all devices.
