The new Google Nexus 9 tablet is not exactly cheap, but you can get at least $100 off from Best Buy if you trade in an old tablet.
Best Buy has a limited-time deal in place for tablet lovers who would like to get the high-end Nexus 9, allowing them to trade in any tablet in working order and get a minimum of $100 toward the purchase of the HTC-made Nexus slate.
The Google Nexus 9 tablet made in collaboration with HTC comes with high-end specs and features all around, but it's not exactly budget-friendly. While the tablet has mostly received positive reviews, its high price tag stirred plenty of criticism and likely limited its success.
With the holiday season just around the corner, however, tech lovers looking for great deals on all sorts of devices and gadgets are in luck, as retailers are getting into the holiday spirit by slashing prices and coming up with lots of attractive deals.
Best Buy's new offer is valid this week only, and allows users to trade in an old tablet in exchange for a notable discount for purchasing the new Nexus 9. Interested customers can trade-in any tablet, regarding of brand or specs, as long as it's in good working condition.
This means that tablets with shattered or cracked screens, signs of water damage, or with other kind of serious damage will be deal-breakers. E-readers will not quality for this promotion, the device you trade in must be a working tablet.
Customers who trade in any working tablet at their nearest Best Buy location until Saturday, Nov. 29 at the latest, will get at least $100 toward the purchase of an HTC-made Google Nexus 9. This minimum discount will consist of a $50 gift card and an additional $50 credit toward the purchase of the new slate.
As a reminder, the Nexus 9 is the first tablet to ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop on board out of the box, serving as a launch vehicle for the latest version of Google's popular mobile OS.
The tablet typically retails for $399.99 and $479.99 for the 16GB and 32GB versions, respectively, at Best Buy, in Indigo Black and Lunar White color options. This limited-time offer set to expire at the end of the week aims to make the Nexus 9 more affordable and is expected to lure in more customers.
