Apple is holding a special "Spring Forward" event on March 9 at San Francisco's Yerba Buena Center, where it may offer more details on its elusive Apple Watch or unveil other devices.
The company unveiled its very first smartwatch, aptly called the Apple Watch, back in the fall of 2014. At the time, the company only said it will launch its gadget "early next year," which translated to sometime in the first months of 2015. More recently, Apple CEO Tim Cook said the Apple Watch will finally start shipping in April.
Apple has now announced a new event for March 9, and it may be related to the Apple Watch. The company may finally reveal more details regarding the pricing for different models of the smartwatch, as well as exact availability and other such information. On the other hand, Apple could also unveil other things at this upcoming event.
Rumors so far have indicated that a minor MacBook Air refresh was en route, and Apple could showcase it at its March 9 event. At the same time, persistent leaks have also claimed that a 12.9-inch iPad Pro should debut soon, and this purported device could also make its official debut at the event. The iPad Pro is rumored to hit the market sometime between April and June, so an announcement in March wouldn't be too surprising.
The general expectation, however, is that Apple's upcoming March 9 event will focus on the highly-anticipated Apple Watch.
Apple fans eager to see what's on the agenda can visit the official Apple events page on March 9 at 10 AM PT/ 1PM ET to watch a live video stream of the presentation. It's worth pointing out that live streaming requires Safari 5.1.10 or later on OS X 10.6.8 or newer, or Safari on iOS 6 or newer. The event streaming will also be available on the second- and third-generation Apple TV with software version 6.2 or newer.
It remains to be seen just what exactly Apple plans to announce at the event, but we'll keep an eye on things and bring you the latest news as soon as they become available, so stay tuned.
