A big electronics retailer may have just spilled the details on the HTC One M9 pricing and release date.
HTC officially took the wraps off its latest flagship smartphone, the One M9, back at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2015 earlier this month, introducing its new powerhouse. At the time, however, the company offered no specific details regarding the pricing and launch date of the smartphone.
Last week we reported that a company sweepstakes with the HTC One M9 as the prize offered some hints in regards to pricing, and now we have more details from a retailer.
More specifically, electronics retailer B&H now lists the 32GB HTC One M9 with a $649.99 price tag unlocked, off-contract, i.e. the same price that previously leaked on Best Buy's website. It remains unclear whether this new listing on B&H is accidental or not, but the retailer hasn't removed the page yet.
The model listed here is the silver/gold variant of the HTC One M9, and B&H states that the smartphone will launch later this month, on March 25. Coincidentally (or not?), March 25 is the date of the HTC One M8 launch last year.
The new-generation flagship boasts notable improvements over its predecessor, albeit the design is largely unchanged. In terms of specifications, the new HTC One M9 sports a 5-inch full HD display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and packs a 64-bit octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor under the hood, paired with 3GB of DDR4 RAM. Other specs include 32GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional storage of up to 128GB, a 20-megapixel rear camera, and a 4-megapixel UltraPixel front shooter. A 2,840 mAh battery will keep things up and running, while Android 5.0 Lollipop with HTC Sense 7.0 on top will rock the software side.
HTC has yet to disclose the official price and launch date of its latest One M9 smartphone, but is expected to provide more information shortly. If B&H turns out to be accurate, the smartphone will hit retail in a little over two weeks, beating the Samsung Galaxy S6 to market. The latest Samsung flagship made its debut on the same date as the HTC One M9, but is expected to become available for purchase next month.
