Lenovo apparently wants to appeal to budget shoppers with a new A3900 entry-level handset, which brings 4G LTE on the cheap.
The Lenovo A3900 will reportedly come with low-end specifications all around, but it will nonetheless offer LTE connectivity, as well as plenty of screen real estate thanks to its 5-inch display.
The handset has made its official debut only in China for now, sporting a budget-friendly price tag of just $80. Although the smartphone has been previously spotted on the TENAA database (China's equivalent of the FCC), its full specifications remained unknown so far. A new report from MTKSJ (via TechGadgedsz), however, now sheds more light on the matter.
The Lenovo A3900 apparently features a 5-inch display with a modest resolution of 480 x 854 pixels, which translates to a low pixel density of just 196 pixels per inch (ppi). Under the hood, the device reportedly packs a MediaTek MT6752 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, with quad-core power.
Other specs of the Lenovo A3900 include just 512MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory of up to 32GB, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter. A 3,900 mAh battery will keep things up and running, while Android 4.4 KitKat will handle the software side, with Lenovo's own Vibe UI on top. Connectivity options consist of 3G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and OTG. The smartphone measures 142.8 x 71.8 x 8.95 mm and weighs in at 157 grams.
The handset will also offer dual-SIM support and will come in white, black, and silver color options.
In other words, the Lenovo A3900 is an entry-level device with basic specifications, but its low price tag, large display (albeit with poor resolution) and 4G LTE connectivity should make it an attractive option for budget-conscious shoppers.
As previously mentioned, the Lenovo A3900 made its debut only in China for now, and it remains unclear at this point when it will reach other markets. India may be next on the list, but the company has made no announcement in this regards so far. We'll keep you up to date as soon as more information becomes available, so stay tuned.
