Best Buy is running a special promotion for the Samsung Galaxy Tab A, allowing interested customers to get a minimum of $100 in credit after turning in a working tablet.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A series of tablets launched in Russia first, and the slates have officially hit retail in the U.S. as well on Friday, May 1. Both the 8-inch and the 9.7-inch Galaxy Tab A slates are available now from Samsung's own website, as well as various retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, and HH Gregg.
The smaller Galaxy Tab A tablet with an 8-inch display normally costs $229.99, while the larger 9.7-inch model sports a price tag of $299.99. Both variants aim to deliver a quality tablet experience without breaking the bank, offering good specifications at affordable prices.
Speaking of specifications, both Samsung Galaxy Tab A slates feature a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels at a more square-ish 4:3 aspect ratio, and both pack quad-core processors under the hood, clocked at 1.2GHz and paired with 2GB of RAM. Other specs include 16GB of internal storage capacity, microSD support for additional memory of up to 128GB, a 5-megapixel rear camera, and a 2-megapixel front shooter. The 8-inch model has a 4,200 mAh battery, while the larger version has a 6,000 mAh unit. In terms of software, both tablets rock Android 5.0 Lollipop out of the box. The 8-inch Galaxy Tab A comes with only one speaker, while the larger variant features two.
As part of a new limited-time offer that is set to expire on May 16, Best Buy is now allowing customers to get a neat discount when purchasing one of the two Samsung Galaxy Tab A tablets. The retailer will offer a $50 coupon for the device, as well as a $50 gift card, when customers turn in any tablet in working condition, except for Barnes and Noble Nook and e-readers. Simply put, any eligible tablet trade-in can get to a minimum of $100 off the Samsung Galaxy Tab A.
This means that customers willing to trade in an old working tablet could get the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A for just $129, and the 9.7-inch variant for $199 from Best Buy. It's worth pointing out, however, that this deal is available in-store only.
