"Dark Souls 3" is among the best action role-playing video games today -- there is no doubt about it. And while fans and gamers alike are still enjoying the fun that FromSoftware and Bandai Namco Entertainment have brought, the game is reportedly receiving its first DLC.
According to Vine Report, "Dark Souls 3" DLC is expected to be released this fall, though no particular date has been reported. It will consist two expansion packs (different from one another). The good thing for Season Pass bearers is that they will have the said expansions for free.
Despite the upcoming release of "Dark Souls 3" DLC, no specific details have been laid out. Nonetheless, the $25 Season Pass description says that players will be up against new enemies and bossies. Moreover, the DLC will come with new maps, along with few additional armor sets and weapons.
While the certainty of the game's downloadable content remains a mystery, Hidetaka Miyazaki has been outspoken about the content being the last piece they are to release. Christian Today reports that the developers have no intention of releasing yet another update (or DLC in a sense) for "Dark Souls 3," as FromSoftware is believed to be working instead on a new IP.
That Miyazaki confirmed their plans to stop creating any sorts of spin-offs and whatnots only suggests that the company is up for something. In fact, the franchise creator reportedly admitted about its aims to move forward to a new direction.
Furthermore, the titular creator said that they have started developing a new IP already and that it has been their goal to introduce newer things.
If this is the case, then all speculations about "Dark Souls 4" being a thing that the company will be working out is put out to rest. With what Miyazaki said, it only goes to show that the upcoming DLC for the third series in the franchise will be the first and the last. Nonetheless, it is still interesting to see how Miyazaki and the rest of the guys from FromSoftware will come up with a new gig.
