Bethesda has dropped exciting news for its "Fallout 4" patrons. The Maryland-headquartered publisher announced that players can download its game's fan-created content via the live Xbox One mod support.
On May 31, the mod support went live giving fans a chance to grab and download the new content. Explaining how this mod works with the Creation Kit of the game, Bethesda shared an instructional video clip on its official Twitter account.
"Mods for #Fallout4 are now on #Xbox One. Start downloading the best content from the community today! #Fallout4Mods," the publisher tweeted alongside the clip.
In a statement obtained by Express, Bethesda shared its excitement over the surprise update noting that this is the first time that the company is bringing mods to the Xbox One console.
"With the latest title update for Fallout 4, Xbox One gamers are now able to browse Mods on Bethesda.net and, more importantly, can directly download and play Mods within the game's main menu," the company added.
However, it appears that Bethesda wasn't ready for the influx of gamers who want to download the new "Fallout 4" content. A couple of hours after going live, the publisher recognized the presence of technical issues. This was then followed by another statement that read: "With so many folks accessing "Fallout 4" Mods on Xbox One, we're currently working to stabilize connectivity. Please Stand By."
The latest update from Bethesda stated that its team is investigating the intermittent outages of BethesdaNet. Nevertheless, Kotaku managed to identify the popular mods among the players who were able to penetrate the system.
Per the video game-focused blog the popular mods include Craftable Cats, Croup Manor Restored, Snap'n Build - XB, Minutemen's Vertibirds and BUSTY EV Body Replacer among others. Meanwhile, the PlayStation 4 mod support for "Fallout 4" is still in the works, and Tech Times claims that it is set to arrive this June.
The PS4 mod is expected to come with the same 2GB limit on the Xbox One and to house over 800 mods of gears and whatnot.
