E3 2016 Updates: 'Red Dead Redemption 2' Announcement Expected

Rumors of a “Red Dead Redemption 2” game have started to surface once again. The latest “proof” that a sequel (or is it a prequel?) is on its way was shown in the Red Redemption subreddit. In here, concept art was supposedly taken from a former Rockstar employee. The image was dated August 17, 2015.

Details like Chromatic Aberration, which is only present in newer Rockstar games like GTA V, were noticed by eagle-eyed fans. Also, the environment of the concept art looks a bit too professional to be fake though this is still subject to confirmation.

PC Advisor noted that another recent update that fueled rumors of another "Red Dead Redemption" game happened in April of this year. Back then, a map that of the game’s world was released online. The original poster on NeoGaf was quick to remove the post. But, as everyone knows, users were just as quick to save copies of the map screenshot.

This map shows the Gear Plains, the home of the first "Red Dead Redemption" game. Included here is Blackwater that players are more than familiar with already. However, the map features a whole lot more than that such as islands that suggests some sort of way to get there, perhaps by swimming.

A report by Tech Radar claims that this map is legit and was corroborated by their “independent source.”

There are a few expectations should the leaks be real. The first is that it is either a sequel or a prequel but rumor has it that “Red Dead Redemption 2” is a prequel. If not, fans are also waiting for the announcement that what is coming out in E3 is a remastered version of the game. Also, the newest Red Redemption is expected to come out for Xbox One and Playstation 4.

E3 will happen from June 14-16, 2016 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
