How To Beat 'Doom' Without Dying In Ultra-Nightmare

It is no secret that "Doom" is not an easy game to beat. But with the Ultra-Nightmare mode, it even makes things very complicated and difficult. Yes, it is quite hard that even the dudes at id Software are scratching their heads. But hey, there is actually a way to beat the said mode without even dying.

According to Eurogamer, there were a handful of dedicated "Doom" players who were able to best the game. Zero Master was the first one to hold the finest speedrun record for the game. However, six hours later, DraQu dethroned him.

Currently, DraQu holds a bunch of speedrun records for the latest "Doom" game. He reportedly first attempted a run on the game's Nightmare mode. Later on, he went straight to Ultra-Nightmare. Although he was not able to keep track of his attempts, he said that he did around 20 attempts with an estimated tries between 11 and 16. The figures happened in day one.

The "Doom" player said that in conquering the game, tracking the enemy's location and position are of utmost importance. This is most especially in the early phase of the game, where players start relatively weak.

It should be noted that the said technique is actually rampant in almost all FPS games. Basically, when a player knows how to keep track of his enemies, he is likely to survive. And, as claimed by DraQu, doing so can prevent total damage.

He iterated about how such technique is very significant particularly during the early game. It is when "Doom" players tend to receive only one or two hits and eventually die. Hence, as much as possible, they have to be very aware about their enemies' locations.

In related news, Kotaku reports that "Doom" 64 is by far the most underrated game in the franchise. One is that it was a very successful reboot. Second and most importantly, it was able to retain the mechanics of the whole series. Unfortunately, it did not receive due applause and kudos.

The makeover done to the monsters in "Doom" 64 are also commendable. Sure, it is not an improvement; however, they are enough to keep the game cool and nice.
