Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) is only a few days away and many believe that two "Dark Souls 3" DLCs will be featured during the event. Indeed, the excitment level gets higher the closer the start date arrives. While waiting, a number of die-hard fans are reportedly started playing the original installment in the franchise again, resulting in the so-called "Global Restart Day."
It has been confirmed that two expansions will arrive to "Dark Souls 3" anytime soon, contrary to the supposed three contents. Although FromSoftware has yet to reveal an official release date, many suggest that these DLCs could possibly be unveiled at E3. The event is scheduled to start on June 14 and ends on June 16.
According to Christian Today, the first "Dark Souls 3" expansion pack is set for release in fall this year. The second one, on the other hand, is scheduled for early 2017. However, it should be noted that the exact release dates still remain vague, despite being announced in early April.
Considering the upcoming E3, it is very likely for FromSoftware and/or Bandai Namco to provide a preview of these "Dark Souls 3" DLCs. After all, the event is deemed as one of the largest in digital gaming and computer entertainment.
Fans should also note that these expansions will be the last of their kind, as the studio does not intend to create further follow-ups and/or spin-offs. Instead, it is reportedly looking at developing a new IP that is completely different from the "Dark Souls 3" franchise. Nonetheless, the devs are leaving the doors open for possible installments of "Dark Souls 3" in the future.
In related news, Kotaku reports that fans of "Darks Souls 3" are playing the original installment once again, ushering what people call "Global Restart Day." Replaying the original installment is a way of celebrating the series with the added intention of making the game as popular as it was during its prime.
The move originally started in the game's subreddit, making the first "Dark Souls 3" games packed with fans from all over the world. "Global Restart Day" is put up to celebrate a modern favorite, a classic game that could last for years.
