'Stellaris' Update: 'Plantoid Species Pack' To Arrive In August, Introduces A New Breed Of Intelligent Aliens

"Stellaris" developer Paradox Development is bringing new excitement to the game. The studio is expected to unleash a new breed of species, with plants having the capability of becoming sentient. The first Species Pack will be introducing the so-called Plantoids very soon.

In its most organic form, "Stellaris" is a 4X grand strategy game that capitalizes in introducing a massive universe. Here, players have the opportunity to choose the kind of species they want to play. They even have the chance to explore unknown entities orbiting the space.

With the new "Stellaris" Species Pack, this will surely bring the game to a whole new level. According to EloTalk, the brand new pack will feature the Plantoids, a new group of interactive aliens. As the name suggests, they will be in sentient plant form.

As of this writing, "Stellaris" only has a total of six unique species groups. With the addition of the Plantoids, the game's universe will surely be different from now on. The aforementioned species is deemed the seventh playable phenotype creatures in the title.

PC Gamer notes that the upcoming "Stellaris" Species Pack has yet to acquire an official price. However, it is slated to arrive on August 4.

These "Stellaris" species will help players dominate every intergalactic mission. These space plants can efficiently reach stars, even many light years away), spreading "their tendrils across the galaxy." By doing so, they can easily plant the roots of a new civilization on whatever planet they choose.

Aside from bringing a new playable "Stellaris" species, the Plantoids will also be introducing 15 brand new portraits. More so, a new range of ships models and a cityscape background are expected to be featured as well.

Meanwhile, in related news, Paradox recently released a "Stellaris" eBook as well as an OST. Both of these are made available for purchase on either Steam or the studio's official store.
