NBA Trade Rumors: Boston Celtics Eyeing Clippers Forward Blake Griffin; Sacramento Kings Sending Rudy Gay to L.A. Clippers?

The Boston Celtics is reportedly eyeing Clippers forward Blake Griffin. Any deal to acquire him though may mean that Sacramento Kings Rudy Gay would soon be sporting an L.A. Clipper uniform.

There is only one snag in the deal. The Celtics will be required to forego a few of its 2017 and 2018 draft picks with the Brooklyn Nets. Team management is reportedly divided about this prospect. Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge and many others believed that they could get a lot of solid good players from the draft picks. Team management is probably deciding if Griffin is worth the sacrifice.

Meanwhile, L.A. Clippers coach Doc Rivers will not give up Blake so easily. It is assumed that he will demand a star player and a few choice drafts picks to ensure the survival of the Clippers in Western Conference games.

There was an earlier rumor that the Boston team may get Kevin Love from the Cleveland Cavaliers. But that rumor was quickly discounted especially now that Cavs have emerged victorious. There were also rumors that Celtic made an offer to Oklahoma Thunders Russell Westbrook. But that was belied by the point guard's agent. No deal was put forward and it is also doubtful that it would prosper anyway, according to Sporting News.

Some sports observers believed that the Celtics are waiting for Westbrook to become a free agent before making an offer. They would also like to know how long he is willing to stay and play in Boston.

The Celtics did manage to get Al Horford to sign up with the team to the tune of $113 million. Although, they are still looking for a few more good players. A number of observers believed that the Celtics' chances of winning a title would greatly improve if it could get another top caliber player like Westbrook or Griffin.
