‘The Winds of Winter’ By George R.R. Martin Delayed Due To Seventh Book ‘A Dream of Spring’

"The Winds of Winter" is the latest book by George R.R. Martin that has yet to come out. There are ongoing rumors explaining that the delay is due to its supposedly simultaneous with the seventh book, "A Dream of Spring"

"Game of Thrones" writer George R.R. Martin is acquiring the reputation among fans as too slow to deliver the goods. But there are speculations that the author might release the sixth and seventh GOT books at the same time. Both of the upcoming books are part of the "A Song of Ice and Fire" set.

The rumor mill is saying that R.R. Martin may release the "The Winds of Winter" GOT book at the World Science Convention on August. Industry observers believed that he will likely attend the event. However, they doubt if he is going to announce the release of the upcoming book.

The rumor of two "Game of Thrones" books coming out simultaneously seems nothing more but wishful thinking among the fans. The reasons for the delay has been repeatedly announced Martin himself. The usual delays in the release of his novels are due to his constant attack of "writer's block."

It took Martin almost five years to finish his fourth book "A Feast of Crows" and almost six years to release the succeeding novel, "A Dance with Dragons", according to The Independent. Meanwhile, the Game of Thrones television series has ended its sixth season. The next season is about to be release in HBO on May of next year.

There is a growing clamor among GOT fans for Martin to get a co-author for his books in order to speed up their release. The author's silence to such request seems to indicate his mood on the matter. Fans are still hoping Martin can finish "The Winds of Winter" before the Game of Thrones seventh season starts airing next year.
