"Dark Souls 3" is the kind of game that will take a huge amount of hours to finish. It is no moonlight and roses after all. However, with a particular glitch, it can actually be dominated in a short period of time.
Yes, speedrunners are proof to that. Nonetheless, FromSoftware reportedly released a patch that fixes the said issue.
Ever since "Dark Souls 3" was released, the number of speedrunners has also dramatically increased. In its most organic form, speedrunners are those players who tend to finish the game in a matter of minutes or hours.
They simply do this either by using cheats or taking advantage of glitches. Or perhaps, they are just too good to actually dominate the entirety of the title.
One particular "Dark Souls 3" speedrunner worth mentioning is Distortion2. He first started speedrunning in the second installment in the franchise. Since then, he has been defeating his overall time in one way or another.
According to Kotaku, he finished the latest title in a matter of an hour, 12 minutes and 36 seconds. However, the record does not stop there, as currently, he has halved that.
It should be noted, however, that a glitch was one of the reasons why the aforementioned "Dark Souls 3" speedrunner was able to achieve it. Through it, players can cast the so-called Tears of Denial Spell in order to survive any possible death. This bug allows a player to hit 0 HP (Health Points) while recovering up to 1 HP.
However, as reported by VG247, "Dark Souls 3" developer FromSoftware is pretty much aware of the situation. Hence a patch was released, addressing the aforesaid glitch. Take note, the studio has been very straightforward with the update, considering that they are known to release vague patch notes.
While this is certainly good news for "Dark Souls 3" fans, the entire community is reportedly not buying it. That until someone actually put an effort in investigating it, only then will this glitch proved fixed.
