Apple releases the second public betas for macOS Sierra and iOS 10 testers, members of the Apple's Beta Software Program.
According to MacWorld, testers can install the iOS 10 public beta 2 over-the-air from their iPod, iPad or iPhone. On desktop, users can download and install the macOS Sierra beta 2 from the Mac App Store's Updates section. The public second betas from Apple follow closely the release by the Cupertino-based company of the third developer beta.
The public second beta for iOS 10 allows users to send files from Safari or Mail to iCloud Drive, tap on App support in Siri's settings and subscribe to playlists in Apple Music. Apple is expected to release the final version of the iOS 10 in the fall.
The iOS 10 in its final version will bring a new personalized Discovery Mix to Apple Music. In the second public beta, this feature is still missing. The second public beta is also lacking additional third-party apps for Messages.
The new macOS 10.12 Sierra second public beta expands on bug-fixes and features introduced first in the previous public beta and in developer betas. The macOS Sierra comes with some interesting updates, including Auto Unlock with an Apple Watch, Siri for Mac, picture-in-picture videos, tabbed interface in most apps, as well as Messages and Photos updates that mimic features on iOS.
According to PCMag, Apple's macOS Sierra is a smooth and almost entirely trouble-free upgrade from OS X, coming with incremental improvements and many new features. Among the pros to the new Apple desktop operating system are a flat learning curve, optional cloud automatic storage for less-used files and other efficient storage options.
Those interested to become Apple's testers can still sign up to the company's Beta Software Program. The only requirements are an eligible device and an Apple ID.
