2016 WWE News: Shelton Benjamin To Make Comeback This Year, After A Six Year Hiatus

After leaving WWE back in 2010, Shelton Benjamin is now finally coming back. He has been on hiatus from the World Wrestling Entertainment for six years and is now making an official comeback.

Shelton Benjamin, one of the underrated WWE stars left WWE back in 2010 and has been wrestling in Japan since. He has also been wrestling on an independent circuit since he left. However, he is finally making a comeback to the world of WWE.

Benjamin's comeback was officially announced during a promo on "SmackDown Live," according to Fox Sports. Shelton Benjamin formerly became an Intercontinental Champion three times but is considered underrated for his accomplishments by fans.

Benjamin's return to the WWE has long been speculating around social media already. This was formerly announced by WWE personality, Teddy, during an appearance he made on the Gerwick Report podcast.

Wrestle Zone reported that during his absence from WWE, Benjamin previously worked in "Ring of Honor" and even won the tag titles twice. This was before he signed with New Japan and eventually made his way to Pro Wrestling Noah.

Some of his fans believe that the company failed to recognize his great athleticism and they merely just look back at his past games. Bleacher Report said that Benjamin was never known to be the most pleasant or charismatic on the microphone. The WWE wrestler's lack of presence on television could have led to him being underrated as an athlete.

Looking back, Benjamin started his wrestling career back in the early 2000s. He entered the world of WWE after his amateur success with the Minnesota Golden Gophers. Alongside wrestler Brock Lesnar, he formed the Minnesota Stretching Crew.

He has been well known for his tactics during "Money in the Bank" matches on his fights. He has been able to show supreme athleticism during his career and his comeback has been a great news to the people who believed in his talent.
