The upcoming UFC 202 Nate Diaz-Conor McGregor match is quickly heating up. The two MMA fighters resorted to water bottle and cans throw fights during their press conference on August 17.
The water bottle throwing incident was apparently started by Nate Diaz during a press conference, according to CBS Sports. The media interview started without Conor McGregor but he eventually appeared.
McGregor said that he was misinformed about the press conference schedule. He did not hesitate making a show of himself. However, Diaz could no longer take McGregor's antics. He decided to leave the stage with his entourage.
The two MMA fighters quickly exchange curses and a lot of bad words were passed. The enraged Diaz then threw a water bottle at McGregor who was still at the stage. Later on the bottle and can throwing quickly grew out of control.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) President Dana White tried to pacify the two but to no avail. Videos on the Diaz and McGregor throwing melee are circulating on the Internet.
White has yet to announce if the two MMA fighters will receive any form of sanction or disciplinary action. This is not the first time McGregor has managed to get on someone's nerves. A few weeks ago, he insulted many WWE athletes by posting a tweet that disparages them. McGregor said that he can "slap their heads off and twice on weekends." Various WWE superstars replied with their own insults.
It is quite clear that there is some bad blood between the two. This antagonism between the two may translate into a bloody and exciting match this weekend.
The impromptu fight has generated a lot of interest in the Diaz-Connor match scheduled for August 20. The match is slated to occur in Las Vegas and is also available as pay-per-view.
