FOX CEO Believes Season Three For "Wayward Pines" Highly Popssible
Just recently, "Wayward Pines" has concluded its second season and the writers have left out a very open finale. It does not necessarily scream a third season, but open to one if it becomes renewed. According to CEO of FOX Dana Walden, she sees the series possibly being renewed for a third season.
According to Vine Report, Walden told reporters during the television Critics Association summer press tour that she is hopeful and positive on the outlook of "Wayward Pines" being renewed for the third season. The show is currently the number one scripted show of the summer and Walden said the network is just waiting for multi-platform numbers to roll up.
Third Season Storyline For "Wayward Pines" Compelling To FOX
She also revealed that she has been talking to the creator, director and producer of "Wayward Pines" with regards to the season three ideas. The pitch of the creators for the third season has been compelling and she says that she likes it.
During the first season, "Wayward Pines" was an instant hit, and the series gained an average of 3.8 million viewers. However, it dropped to 2.4 million during the second season but the producers are not giving up, especially that the season two finale got 3.5 million viewers.
Whole New Storyline For Season Three
With regards to the storyline of the upcoming season three when it gets the light, it can be a little tricky for the writers since the second season already covered the last two books, according to Movie News Guide. They may create a whole new plot for the third season, which is very possible since the finale of the second season makes room for any major changes.
