NBA rumors are swirling about a possible trade between Minnesota Timberwolves player Ricky Rubio and Sacramento Kings. One possible player offered is Rudy Gay.
Gay's name has long been rumored to be up for trade. However, the Kings reportedly has yet to find a suitable deal for him. They may have found one now.
Rumors of the Sacramento's interest in Ricky Rubio were started by KSTP radio host Darren Wolfson, according to Sportsrageous. He quoted Timberwolves owner Glen Taylor on a recent Podcast that Rubio will be a part of the team's starting lineup. However, he mentioned that, "the Sacramento Kings is the team to watch."
Rubio participated in the Rio Olympics and played for the Spanish national team. His participation helped Spain win the bronze medal while the United States got the gold. Rubio's Olympic gig may have also increase his trading value.
Rumormongers are claiming that the Sacramento Kings sees Rubio as suitable point guard partner for DeMarcus Cousins. On the other hand, the Timberwolves is unlikely to give up its veterans in any trade although it could use fresh players that are good on offense plays.
NBA observers are wondering if the Minnesota is willing to get Gay and even Ben McLemore in exchange for releasing Rubio to Sacramento. Some however, think that the Timberwolves would need more incentive to release Ricky Rubio.
Meanwhile, Rubio has remained silent over the ongoing trade rumors about him, according to Big Story. The Spanish born player is giving every indication that he is happy with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Rubio joined the Timberwolves in 2011 and has stayed with the team ever since.
Rubio said that he is looking forward to playing with the Timberwolves' newest recruit, Kris Dunn. He also welcomes the idea of working Minnesota head coach Tom Thibodeau.
