Last week, Dark Souls 3 fans learned that a major announcement was expected to be made. But of course, to snowball the hype, the developers didn't give out any specifics. Fortunately though, PlayStation via its social media appears to have teased what it'll be about -- it's the game's first ever DLC titled Ashes of Ariandel.
According to Shacknews, the Dark Souls 3 upcoming DLC was first teased by the official Twitter account of Sony's PlayStation. Although it was already removed, the publication was able to acquire a screenshot of it.
No longer a secret, the first Dark Souls 3 DLC will be titled Ashes of Ariandel. It is due on October 25, unless FromSoftware and Bandai Namco say otherwise. A trailer was also reportedly teased, though its availability was made private.
The forthcoming Dark Souls 3 downloadable content, as already iterated in the past, will contain some hefty features. New weapons are expected to be introduced along with some magic of sorts. Moreover, the most interesting of it all, the so-called Immortal Competition -- a PvP-exclusive map -- will also be included.
The new Dark Souls 3 weapons are said to include a great sword sporting a colourless flame. The magic spells, on the other hand, are believed to be a boomerang seemingly made of light and an ice-storm attack.
As previously reported here at iTech Post, the first Dark Souls 3 has since been rumored to arrive sometime in Fall. With the recent revelation of a major announcement, things started to fall into its places. That, in one way or another, the big reveal will indeed be the title's first expansion.
Sure, Sony's tweet may have given Dark Souls 3 fans a concrete knowledge in terms of the DLC's title and would-be features. Nevertheless, more details about it are expected to be unleashed at due time. After all, Bandai Namco is set to make such huge announcement today.
