Overwatch Guide: The Last Bastion - Recon And Sentry Configuration

Overwatch fans are familiar with Bastion's ability to configure to either Recon or Sentry and even Tank mode. Each mode has its own advantages and disadvantages.

Bastion at Recon Mode

Recon mode allows Bastion to move around and scout for possible sentry sites. A walking Bastion is armed with a submachine gun that allows it to deal substantial damage to opponents.

Advantage:

Bastion is mobile in this mode. It can evade enemy fire while attacking or defending itself.

Disadvantage:

Bastion's firepower is considerably weaker compared to his sentry mode.

Bastion at Sentry Mode

Bastion is quite deadly when it decides to make a stand on a single location. Bastion's submachine gun is now replaced by a Gatling gun that can dish out terrible damages to several opponents caught within its sight.

Advantage:

Bastion at sentry mode is ideal for defending a team's position, ambuscades and picking out enemies caught in its crossfires.

Disadvantage:

Bastion is a sitting duck once the opposing team is made aware of its position. A Bastion in sentry mode usually gets destroyed after losing the element of surprise.

Bastion at Tank Mode

This mode is Bastion's deadliest mode but only lasts for a few seconds. It transforms into a powerful tank armed with a cannon capable of hitting its enemies from afar. Its explosive projectiles can give out devastating punishments. Bastion temporarily gets additional health and armor while in tank mode.

Advantage:

One lucky hit could wipe out an entire team and Bastion does not have to get close to them.

Disadvantage:

This mode only lasts for a few seconds and useless if the opposing team is very near.

Conclusion

Overwatch players using Bastion can survive longer if they use a combination of these three modes. The trick is using the right mode at the right time. Bastion fans could enjoy the Last Bastion YouTube video that is making the rounds lately.
