Alienware, a premium gaming PC brand, has started to offer three of its machines with AMD Polaris graphics card options.
Alienware PCs Featuring AMD Polaris GPUs
The Dell-owned Alienware brand is known more for its gaming range of unique styled computers than for their affordability. The brand offers high-end performance for gaming enthusiasts who can afford it. However, it's seems that the new range of AMD Polaris powered desktops have finally found a middle ground. Featuring AMD's new RX series graphics cards, they offer strong performance at an affordable price.
The Alienware gaming PCs that are getting AMD Radeon RX 400 series under their hood are the futuristic Area 51 pod desktop, the Alienware Aurora desktop tower and the Alpha R2 desktop. The new Alienware AMD combos are presented on AMD's Radeon blog. According to Hexus, their graphics card configurations vary from a singular Radeon R9 M470X to a trio of Radeon RX 480 GPUs.
This offer comes out of an emerging partnership between Alienware and AMD. The gaming computer brand is planning to increase in the future its range of systems featuring AMD hardware.
Right now, gaming enthusiasts can order the Alienware Aurora R5 that offers a good price-quality report. The Aurora R5 is offering high-level performance, featuring AMD Polaris RX 480 GPUs in crossfire mode.
AMD's booth at Gamescom was showing off its products' capabilities, presenting a number of Aurora systems running AMD RX hardware. The Alienware Aurora systems featuring AMD Polaris GPUs were also used as part of the Miss Rage Twitch event.
Alienware Area 51
According to Digital Trends, besides the Aurora systems, gaming enthusiasts will also be able to enjoy the power of the new AMD hardware in the Area 51, Alienware's top-of-the-line system, Area 51. The flagship gaming computer has a truly unique design and shape, being able to pack in as many as three AMD Polaris RX 480 graphics cards.
The Alienware Area 51 gaming computer will offer performance rivaling even some of the most expensive Nvidia alternatives. However, the performance achieved will depend on the game played and the drivers used.
