PS4 Neo News: Coming Out To Push Limits, Bigger Hardware, Price Revealed

Recent leak on the PlayStation 4 Neo revealed information that it will be a tad heavier and thicker compared to the original PS4. The cost for the upcoming console has also been leaked. As stated on the official forums (reader alert: translate it to english via Chrome | right click any words then choose Translate) for A9VG, an employee from Foxconn exposed a sketch for the Playstation 4 Neo. The sketch, not a good one I might add, shows a console that seems to be a mix of the PS4 and PS2.

As you can observe, the sketch may not look serious but it emphasizes some kind of button or touch botton or the PS4 Neo logo on top. The employee is hesitant to give out information for very obvious reasons. For those who do not know yet, Foxconn produces Playstation hardware including the upcoming Playstation 4 Neo.

The sketch above provides design elements that may make it a better incarnation. Thicker and heavier would mean an advantage for the console's improved processing and graphics capabilities. If you think about building a gaming rig, bigger cases mean better hardware specs, since you can freely plug in every component without worrying about real estate. A similar sketch for the PlayStation 4 Slim was also released recently, but it was put down right away. It turned out that the sketch was pretty close to what the actual PS4 slim unboxing leaks look like.

Another post from A9VG reveals that the PS4 Neo will be about 10 pounds. It has been reported recently that the PS4 Neo will have an increased size along with its 4.19 teraflops of power which explains the need for real estate upgrade - more space to breathe in. Along with the console's physical size increase is also the price. The original console was released at $399, PS4 Neo will be set at $450.

On the other side of the world

Specification from an official documented information was recently exposed by WCCFTech. The publication confirmed that the final verions of the upcoming PS4 Neo will have specifications to be slightly higher - packing a Jaguar 8-core with 2.1 Ghz combined with a 911Mhz GPU. Not to mention a RAM of 8GB / GDR5 running at 218 GB/s.

Launch date is confirmed to be not this year but sometime in 2017, opposing sources tell otherwise by persisting it will be out before the Holidays.

In the meantime, enjoy the memories of the PS4 reveal last June 2013. Leave a comment below if you can, will 'ya?
