CD Projekt Red's 'Cyberpunk 2077' Has A Bigger Dev Team Than 'Witcher 3'

With the Game of The Year edition for The Witcher III: Wild Hunt out of the way, CD Projekt Red can now channel their resources towards the development of Cyberpunk 2077, which is deemed as the long-awaited title for sci-fi games. The said game was teased almost half a decade ago and it is still building up hype.

As reported by Game Rant, Cyberpunk 2077 is building up to be bigger and more revolutionary than its sister, The Witcher series. Word has it that CD Projekt Red has rounded up what is most likely to be the largest dev team ever to work on Cyberpunk 2077. A report posted by VG247 also stated that it would indeed be the biggest dev team on full capacity, even bigger than what was pooled for The Witcher III.

Why is there a need to pool together a huge number of devs?

The Polish dev team has always considered this game to be "their most ambitious venture to date", Game Rant adds. This is not surprising provided their track record on The Witcher series but it still gives its fans hype and excitement on what is to come. It is even praised by Game Rant's staff as part of their recent #7FaveGames feature.

On paper, Cyberpunk 2077, is an RPG based in a 'dark future in the year 2077 where technology became so advanced it became both curse and salvation for the entire human race.' To add, CD Projekt Red themselves admitted that they will need to push the envelope really further due to the success of The Witcher III: Wildhunt.

With more success expected from The Witcher III, it will no doubt be very difficult to have a follow up, let alone overcome. This is why a sizeable dev team needs to be on board. That, plus CD Projekt Red's infamous ability to create videogames would sure be a good recipe for Cyberpunk 2077.
