"Rick and Morty" season three has been previously rumoured to be released last August. However, that was never confirmed by the production team, thus there is no reason to be disappointed. Series creators Justin Roiland and Dan Harmon have already said during the San Diego Comic Con that the upcoming episodes for the third season will start to be released just before the year ends. It has then been anticipated that it will come out some time in November or December.
Even though the December release date has not been confirmed yet, it is already the last month of the year and so the fans of the series have remained positive on that note. As for the upcoming storyline for the series, there have already been many speculations on that area.

There have been reports that the upcoming season three of "Rick and Morty" will be darker and even longer than the past seasons. The first and second season only aired 11 and 10 episodes, respectively; the upcoming third season will have 14 episodes in total.
According to an update made by the show's writer, Mike McMahan on his twitter account, although it has been a long wait for the fans, it will all be worth it since they have prepared the craziest and most fun season three of "Rick and Morty."
It has also been speculated that and Evil Morty will be in season three and that he will be the one to help his grandfather, Rick to break out of jail. He will reportedly have the help of Rick's other granddaughter, Summer.
