Doom Deathmatch, Private matches as well as Arcade Mode will soon be added in the game. Doom fans will get to see the upcoming features via livestream on September 13.
Deathmatch, Private match and Arcade Mode - What to Expect
Doom game developer, Bethesda, promised to deliver a quick action multiplayer match. Private matches allow players to adjust the setting of the multiplayer match. This includes choice of maps, time or score limits. Even power weapons and demons could either be allowed or in private matches. Not much detail is known about the Arcade mode. Which is why, Bethesda also promised to present a brief glimpse of the new mode for Doom.
These three additional Doom features will be presented livestream on September 13 at 11 AM Pacific Time (PT) and can be viewed via Twitch.
Bethesda Errs on Late Addition of Doom Deathmatch
No less than Doom Game Director Marty Sratton admitted that they should have included the Deathmatch when Doom was first released on May 13. However, he said that his team concentrated in perfecting the game's team modes and put the Deathmatch mode at the bottom of their "to do list".
The surge of players' request for the return of Deathmatch however made them realize their mistake. The livestreaming event will include Stratton and fellow id Software colleague, Hugo Martin.
Doom Deathmatch, Private match, Arcade Mode Release Date
Both the Doom Deathmatch and Private match mode will be included in the "Free Update 3" scheduled for release sometime before the end of September. The Arcade mode will be released on a much later date this fall. Doom is available in various gaming platforms including Windows PC, Xbox One and the PlayStation 4.
Bethesda is also offering prizes to lucky livestream viewers include a customized UAC Xbox One gaming console as well as Doom copies bearing id Software's signature.
