Red Dead Redemption 2 Rumored To Be A Prequel; Game To Feature An Even Larger Map

There have been much anticipation and speculations about Red Dead Redemption 2. There are fans who believe it will exist, while there are those who think otherwise. Either way, its arrival remains a mystery. But really, what will the game be all about? Is it a sequel, or perhaps a prequel to the original title? Will it feature a massive map as what most gamers speculate?

As previously reported here at iTech Post, the status quo of Red Dead Redemption 2 became murky after Rockstar didn't attend the so-called PlayStation Meeting. It has since been rumored that the title will be unveiled during the aforesaid event. Unfortunately, the company wasn't there, staining the possibility of a RDR2.

Nevertheless, that didn't shake the many hopeful fans of Red Dead Redemption 2. There are still who believe that Rockstar will eventually announce it sooner or later. Besides, the video game company is known to keep things under the shade (take the GTA franchise for example).

According to PC Advisor, an image of what seems to be a map for Red Dead Redemption 2 appeared online. Although it was eventually removed (as originally posted on NeoGaf), some people were able to save a screenshot of it.

As what the Red Dead Redemption 2 image projects, it features a massive area that introduces the so-called Gear Plains. The latter is basically home to Blackwater, a place where the setting of the first installment was situated. This, in one way or another, suggests a possible larger map -- somewhat bigger compared to the ones in the previous title.

But the speculations don't stop there for Red Dead Redemption 2. Based on the aforementioned map, the upcoming game might in fact be a prequel, as opposed to it being a sequel. This rooted from the lack of railroads as seen on the leaked map. It is worth noting that railroads played a significant role in the first title.

What are your thoughts on Red Dead Redemption 2? Do you think it's really a prequel to the original game? Or perhaps, it's really meant to be a sequel? Anyway, be sure to share us your thoughts at the comment section below!
