Apple iPad Air 3 To Launch Sooner Than You Think: Specs, Price And Latest Updates

We initially anticipated an October 2015 release for the iPad Air 3, based on past indications from Apple. The iPad Air 2 was revealed to journalists on October 16, 2014; the iPad Air 1 was declared on October 22, 2013, and released toward the beginning of November.

This is Apple's standard iPad release schedule, and the announcement of iOS 9 at WWDC 2015 on June 8, same as every year, suggested that things were continuing as usual. Apple refreshed its mid-size iPad range last March when it revealed the 9.7-inch iPad Pro. As for the successor to the iPad Air 2, however, things are a lot less concrete.

Design

It's a conspicuous sensible progression from the 12.9-and 9.7-inch iPad Pro models, bit it appears to be likely that the iPad Air 3 will have a Smart Connector on the left-hand edge for attaching a Smart Keyboard Cover. Most iPad accessories are dependent on their own battery power - even the Apple Pencil must be recharged, albeit very quickly, when it runs out of charge - but the Smart Connector allows a connected keyboard cover to draw power from the iPad's battery.

Specs

The iPad Pro 9.7-in. is the first iPad in history to highlight a flash. This is attached to the rear-facing camera, but the front-facing camera also has the Retina Flash feature, whereby the whole screen is induced to light up as a kind of substitute flash. We feel that the iPad Air 3 is likely to get either or both these upgrades as well. Ming-Chi Kuo, a standout amongst the most acclaimed Apple savants out there, anticipated that 3D Touch wouldn't show up in the iPad Pro 9.7-in, and this proved correct.

Price

We anticipate that it will cost essentially what the iPad Air 2 cost when it launched. The iPad Air 3's U.S. value begins at $448 for the 16 GB model in Wi-Fi just, climbing to $538 for 64 GB Wi-Fi and $628 for 128 GB Wi-Fi.
