Blizzard’s “Diablo 3” has been one of the most talked about games this year. One of the most striking features of the game is the active auction house that Game has to offer.
For those who are new to the game and still want to know more about the auction house, “Diablo 3” has introduced a very powerful auction house system that will provide a safe, fun, and easy-to-use way for players to buy and sell the loot they find in the game. There are two different versions of the auction house in “Diablo 3”: one based on in-game gold, which players acquire through their adventures, and one based on real-world currency.
Now let’s take a look at the top five most frequently asked questions about the in-game auction house.
What is the basic difference between gold-based auction house and the real-money auction house?
The gold-based auction house makes use of in-game gold for purchases and sales. However, with the real-money auction house, players will be able to conduct these transactions using actual currency from an authorized payment method or even by using their Battle.net Balance. Players can also choose to participate in whichever version of the auction house they prefer, on a per-transaction basis.
How will I access the auction house?
You can easily access the auction house from the campaign screen, before entering a game, by selecting the Auction House button from the left-side menu. Note that, if you are in the middle of a game, you will first need to leave the game and return to the main campaign screen in order to access the auction house.
What about more than one active auction at a time? Is it possible?
Luckily, accounts can have a maximum of 10 active auctions per gold- and real-money auction house. However, each available currency has its own independent auction house, so this limit applies separately to each. Also remember that items that have expired and been returned to the seller will be sent to the Completed tab, where the player can then move the items to his or her stash.
I heard that the real-money version of the auction house is optional. Is that so?
Yes, the real-money auction house is available as an option for players who wish to purchase or sell “Diablo 3” items for real money. Players are also able to buy and sell items through the gold-based auction house. What’s more, they can trade items with each other through direct character-to-character in-game trading.
How will the transaction fee be determined?
In the gold-based auction house, a 15 percent transaction fee will be charged from the final sale price of a successful auction. In the real-money auction-house, on the other hand, for equipment such as weapons and armor, a fixed transaction fee will be deducted from the seller for each piece of equipment successfully sold. This fee is then assessed only if the item is sold.
For commodities such as crafting materials, gems, gold, and other “stackable” items, a 15 percent transaction fee will be deducted from the total sale price. Find out about the specific details related to the transaction fee below.
