Atlus, the company behind Persona, warns the public that they immediately shoot down any "Persona 5" spoilers if spotted on social media.
The official Japanese website for the video game says that the anticipated Japanese RPG recently launched in Japan, Yibada reports.
To be able to protect Western fans from inevitable spoilers, Atlus has posted a warning towards Japanese fans (or whoever got the game first) that any detected spoilers on social media will be taken down right away - this is a painstaking but huge move for the company, keeping the excitement on the other side of the world.
Two of Persona's Velvet Room guardians, Caroline and Justine, have given out warnings to players, stopping them from sharing any information about events beyond the first scenes of the brand new game.
To mark as example, an unboxing video for the Japanese 20th anniversary edition has been shot down from YouTube. Justine warns that players must avoid posting any in-game footage past the opening portion and share it over the internet. The character, however, did not specify the duration of this silencing campaign. She also expressed to keep in thought that there are many customers looking forward to the game and it is highly appreciated that we do not spoil it for them. Velvet Room people will not think twice in punishing who violate their rules.
To add, Atlus gives their own warning on sharing spoilers online below the dialogues. The game company also released a similar announcement in the past with Persona 4 spin-offs, "Dancing All Night" and "Arena Ultimax."
The game will be available in Europe and North America on Valentines Day, 2017 - a perfect gift for your boyfriends or girlfriends (hint).
