Rise of the Tomb Raider never looked better in the new PS 4 Pro gaming platform. It's one of the older games that have 4K resolution.
Rise of the Tomb Raider PS4 Pro 4K Resolution Feedback
It is rather ironic that Rise of the Tomb Raider was once an Xbox One exclusive. During the PS4 Pro demo, the Lara Croft game gives viewers what a 4K resolution game would look like in this new gaming platform, according to VG24/7.
It seems that developers had the foresight to release Rise of the Tomb Raider in three graphic modes including 4K.
Rise of Tom Raider 1080p Resolution: PS 4 Pro Vs Windows PC
Critics noted that the game's resolution in PS4 Pro almost rivals that of a Windows PC. However the PS4 Pro does have some limitations when it comes to running 4K resolutions, according to PlayStation Lifestyle. It is important to bear in mind that a Windows PC is still a powerful gaming platform compared to the PS4 Pro when it comes hardware and resolution.
Despite its 4K capability, the PS4 Pro is unable to run games at 60 fps compare to the Windows PC. Other special graphic details such as shadows and some lighting effects are noticeably lacking. Graphic textures and heat haze level are unstable.
Rise of the Tomb Raider developer Digital Foundry said that the resolution discrepancy is not that noticeable. The game editors did admit that the PS4 Pro could not run a native 3840x2160 Ultra High Density (UHD) resolutions. Many are still bewildered why Sony limited the PS4 Pro's 4K capability. The new Sony gaming platform also does not have as much RAM capacity as the Windows PC.
Sony is expected to release the PlayStation 4 Pro on November 10, 2016. Meanwhile the PlayStation 4 Slim has been released last September 15.
