‘Scream’ Season 3 Renewal Not Possible; Season 2’s Ratings Killed The Show

Season 3 of the slasher – horror series “Scream” remains in the dark due to its poor ratings in the previous season.

An online petition has been initiated by fans in persuading MTV to renew the show for its third installment yet the network stays tight-lipped on the matter. The campaign is said to be short of less than 1,500 signatures to reach its mark of 5,000 petitioners.

Should series developers Jill Blotevogel, Dan Dworkin and Jay Beattie consider the said request, they will be able to make thousands of fans absolutely happy and grateful.

TV Series Finale revealed the unimpressive performance of “Scream” season 2; highlighting its average rating of 0.19 in August which is 45.10 percent lower than the evaluation from its past season.

It is noteworthy to say that the ranking of a tv show remarkably impacts its longevity in the entertainment industry. The press and avid followers of the series won’t come into assumptions about its conclusion should it deliver amazingly and if the showrunners or at least the cast have given a clear signal about its impending season.

iTech Post mentioned in a prior report that MTV’s proclamation of “Scream’s” special episode this October is a clue that the show is up for another season and that its silence on the growing cancellation rumors is the show’s creators’ way of thrilling the audience of its major comeback in the screens.

The two-hour Halloween special titled “Spooky Special Sneak Peek” is deemed as a chapter that will answer the mysteries left behind by the previous season.

To recall, Kieran received a terrifying call from Brandon who was believed to be dead for a long time asking him about his right of wearing the strange mask.

Hopefully, “Scream” will treat everyone with a joyous and shocking Christmas with season 3 being confirmed.
