Pokemon Go Tip: Which Pokemon Can Defeat Unbeatable Snorlax

Pokemon Go gym attackers don't like fighting a Snorlax defender. But using the right combination of Pokemon, attackers can defeat it.

Snorlax - No Hard Counters in Pokemon Go

Sadly, Snorlax does not have any hard counters. Even the best fighting Pokemon available in the game, Machamp is not the most efficient attacker against Snorlax. The problem lies in the way Pokemon Go computes the damages that are lowered down by a combination move sets and stats. It could be beaten, but it will take several Pokemon to do so.

Assigning the Best Pokemon Against Snorlax

Vaporeons are the best Pokemon attackers against a Snorlax gym defender right now. Using Water Gun or Hydro Pump, it will take around 50 seconds to defeat the Snorlax. Vaporeon takes a little longer than Machamp to defeat Snorlax. However, Snorlax will have to Zen headbutt Vaporeon 31 times to defeat it compared to 19 times against Machamp.

Even without a Vaporeon, Pokemon Go gym attackers can simply field their two top Pokemon to defeat a Snorlax defender, except Machamp, according to Trainer Tips. Ironically, a Snorlax Attacker is also a good match against a fellow Snorlax defender.

How Snorlax Became a Great Gym Defender

Snorlax is classified in Pokemon Go as a normal type. In theory, a normal Pokemon would have no chance against a fighting Pokemon like Machamp. But as mentioned earlier, there are no suitable fighting moves that are effective counters for Snorlax.

Meanwhile, Snorlax has effective attacks and charge moves against gym attackers. Snorlax has two quick attack moves such as Lick / Ghost with a ten DPS (damage per second) and Zen Headbutt / Psychic with more than ten DPS. Snorlax also has two Normal charge moves like Body Slam that deals around 29 DPS and Hyper Beam (around 27 DPS). It also a ground charge move, Earthquake that deals more than 21 DPS.
