With the imminent release of the official Android 7.0 Nougat coming soon, Android device owners will most likely shrink back before upgrading with this new fact discovered. Android Nougat is reportedly having more crashes over Apple's iOS 10.
Android 7.0 Nougat crashes have been the object of talks in the tech community as the new software upgrade nears its official release anytime soon. A report from Apteligent released last Tuesday, Sept. 27 revealed that Android Nougat has 2.5 times more cases of network crashes than the iOS.
In general, Android Nougat has also been recorded to have more overall crashes aside from the network-related ones. The report also stated that Android Nougat crashes reached 6.4 percent of the time, two notches over iOS 10 that has a crash rate of 4.1 percent.
The company noted that the crash rate of Nougat has improved from its initial release. Even so, Nougat is expected to become more stable in the coming months.
Apteligent is a California-based mobile app intelligence company that provides app performance insights for mobile developers.
As of now, the adoption rate of Android Nougat remains truncated as it is not yet available to everyone.
Android Marshmallow More Stable Than Nougat
Even Nougat's predecessor Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which ran on a huge amount of Android devices, is reported to be more stable than Nougat.
Apteligent states in its report, "When Marshmallow was released it was the most stable Android OS in Apteligent's datawarehouse. The opposite has happened thus far with Nougat."
Android Nougat Still Up For Improvement
Android developers have yet to release the beta version of Android Nougat to most devices. Before releasing the final version of the software, developers will have an idea as to which part Nougat needs improvement.
Google has just opened the Android 7.0 Nougat Beta program to Sony Xperia device owners which will help in the development of the software.
As of this writing, Google has not yet responded with regard to Nougat's losing performance in contrast to iOS 10.
Android 7.0 Nougat is slated to bring in a host of new features and improvements to Marshmallow and Lollipop's native features.
