Microsoft Project Scorpio's price is what seems to be interesting about the console, which is expected to be the most powerful of its kind. Since the exact price has not been announced yet, Xbox head Phil Spencer already hinted the cost.
The Microsoft Project Scorpio was developed in a similar way with the Xbox One S, the upgraded version of the Xbox One. According to Spencer, their Xbox team was planning to maintain the price between the consoles to prevent being disconnected with a broad price gap.
Microsoft Xbox head Spencer also said that Project Scorpio may appear like a premium console, but it will definitely be offered at a cost that is different from other video game consoles ever been released. The Microsoft Project Scorpio will be available at a starting price of $299 for the console version of 500GB bundled with a free game. On the other hand, a bigger hard drive will cost at around $399 with standalone 2 TB Xbox One S.
The likely price window for Microsoft Project Scorpio has been created with much consideration on the highest price of a recent video game console worth $600, the price value of Sony's PS3 when it was released. Furthermore, based on Spencer's statement on the Project Scorpio price, it is unlikely to be offered for more than $600, Tech Times reported.
Meanwhile, Microsoft announces that there will be no deception with its own titles. In a recent interview, Microsoft executive Shannon Loftis revealed that all first-party games that will come in the Scorpio time schedule are going to run in native 4K.
Although Loftis does not mention which games are those, it is no longer surprising if Scorpio is about a year away. Also, the 4k promise may be important to providing the upcoming Xbox hardware a tough start.
Also, regardless if a number of third party games shift to upscaling than resort to a real 4K, the players will still have a few incentive to purchase the new system. Although it may not make them forget the PS4 Pro, it may just persuade them to upgrade from the original Xbox One than wait for a little longer, ENgadget reported.
